About Me

Hello! I’m Kersten Rettig, a passionate foodie, travel enthusiast, and storyteller. With over 30 years of experience in marketing and public relations, I’ve worked with clients ranging from American Airlines to Taco Bell, but my true love lies in the world of food, beverage, and hospitality. My journey in this industry has led me to own three restaurants, and although they have since closed, the experience fueled my passion for exploring and sharing culinary delights.

I cover food, beverage, and travel for Park Cities People and Preston Hollow People Newspapers in Dallas. My writing is not just a profession but a way to connect with people who share my enthusiasm for delicious cuisine and unforgettable travel experiences. Whether it’s dining at a five-star restaurant or enjoying a simple, hearty meal, I believe that good food is the foundation of genuine happiness, a belief inspired by the great Auguste Escoffier.

As an active member of Les Dames d’Escoffier, I specialize in marketing and PR for restaurants and hotels. I’m deeply involved in philanthropic organizations that focus on feeding people and enriching lives. My blog, Kersten Eats, is a platform where I explore and share the full spectrum of good food and good places, from gourmet dining to food that brings comfort and joy to those in need.

I live in Dallas with my wonderful family—my kids, who inspire me every day, and my supportive husband, Clark. I write because I love to, not for fame or fortune, and I invite you to join me on this delicious journey. Follow my adventures on Instagram at @KerstenEats, and feel free to share your own dining experiences and travel stories with me. Let’s celebrate the joy of good food and great places together.
